Hi Julia, To me I am doing everything right. I watched your videos and I was evaluating myself and found I have been doing all of the things you suggest. I am outgoing and a people person. I have no problem making friends and when I do make friends they all are lifelong friends. Then come the "but" all I seem to get are close friends. I haven't been making that connection with women. For example; About 9 months ago I meet this girl. We talk casually every once in a while. Then I find out she is a big hockey fan, I am a huge hockey fan! We instantly hit it off, I mean in DC finding a hockey fan! I took her to a game which happened to be really close to the glass. We have hit it off so well, but once again I am in the "friend zone". I love having her as a friend and we probably would not have worked out in the end so it is so much better having her as a friend. I would hate not having her in my life and I would not have intimate relations with her because of this. You have no idea how many of my friends are in serious relationships because I have introduced my friends to each other. In the end I am alone. I am having the hardest time meeting that girl and I agree with you "don't settle". Maybe you have some advice on what I may be doing wrong. - remo

Hey Julia, I've been watching your videos for a while now, as I'm sure many have, for the excellent advice (I'm sure your smile and fun loving attitude aren't hurting the ratings either). But on to the purpose for emailing you. The main issue I have is getting the conversation rolling. Bringing up a positive point of interest (compliment or otherwise) is a fine way to get her attention and then insert your name (and hopefully get hers) but then from there I'm not good at presenting topics or asking questions that spark conversation. I'm normally pretty good at 'active listening' when a girl does start opening up but just not so great at getting them to that point. This second issue probably isn't an issue that can help the majority but I saw this girl walking around the apartment complex late at night with her dog both last night and the night before and I was wanting to introduce myself and see where it led. I'm a little weary to attempt talking to her though because not sure how she'll respond to a random guy approaching her in the parking lot around that time of night. - tflickinger

So I made a new friend, and a few weeks back we were kickin' it at a local bar with some other folks.
