So, our agents just uncovered a new study and DAMN, do we want to believe it. The central finding is that drinking alchohol can actually increase your salary! Also, that drinkers on average make MORE cash than non-drinkers (all two of them!).
The study, conducted by the nonprofit Reason Foundation, found that females who drink make 14 percent more than those who don't. Male drinkers make 10 percent more than their teetotaler counterparts.
In addition to those findings, male drinkers who drink socially, which means they go to a bar at least once per month, make another 7 percent above the aforementioned 10 percent. Edward Stringham, an economist from the Foundation, has said, 'Social drinking builds social capital.
He also added, 'Social drinkers are out networking, building relationships and adding contacts to their BlackBerries that result in bigger paychecks. Sorry ladies, the study also found that women don't have the same benefit from social drinking as men. Those who went to bars at least once per month didn't show any earning differences from those who didn't. That doesn't mean you can't still go to the bar, it just means it won't help you to make more money at work.
So, have a drink after work tonight. It might be the best thing you can do to build you career. Meanwhile, we can't wait to see what this research agency turns up next...like will smoking weed get you more girls? Stay tuned...
