The ninth title in the Grand Theft Auto series, Grand Theft Auto IV, is now available for your gaming pleasure. If low-rent hookers, murder at point-blank range, buying and selling drugs and cruising the streets looking to start trouble are to your taste then Grand Theft Auto IV is ready to deliver. In the United Kingdom, the game sold 609,000 copies on its first day of release, making it the fastest selling game in a 24 hour period within that region.

In the game you play the part of Nico Bellic, who comes to America to experience the celebrity life promised by his cousin Roman, who has spun tales of mansions, sports cars and big breasted women to his eastern bloc relative. When Nico arrives in Liberty City, an astounding fictional recreation of the five boroughs of New York, he discovers Roman's life is a lie. He lives in a cockroach infested slum and drives a cab.

And so your life as Nico begins, working to help Roman clear his debts and build a new life for yourself. Along the way you can slaughter whoever you like at will, grab a bite to eat at restaurants and build up you little criminal empire.
Bored? Hit a lap dance bar. Frustrated? Buy a hooker. Stealing a parked car has even been made more fun: now involves Niko approaching the car, breaking the glass, and hotwiring it. Insider Tip: As Niko, you are also allowed to drive while intoxicated.
