It seems that SHAUN OF THE DEAD creators Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright have finally received the go-ahead on there next flick, HOT FUZZ.

The creative duo recently announced plans to begin production on the new film, which is said to star both Pegg and real life buddy Nick Frost (Shaun's best friend in SOTD) "as two mismatched cops who team up in a West Country backwater". Even from that brief description it sounds like it could be pretty funny, especially coming from these two guys.

In a recent interview with Empire Online, Pegg had this to say about the film, "We watched a hell of a lot of movies before we started writing and his movies have that kind of sass. It's a tribute to those movies, in a way, like a British Shane Black movie. I'm going to sound like whatsisname off Matrix Reloaded -'we've raised the bar!' - but I just hope we can live up to what we kind of inadvertently did with Shaun. We definitely can. We've eaten the bar!"

Hopefully there flick will live up to SHAUN, as there will obviously be a lot of pressure on the duo to outperform themselves. The film has no release date yet, so keep an eye out for more news on this one.
