It seems that New Line and Walden Media have recently announced there newest remake, JOURNEY 3-D. What the hell kind of title is that? Well, seeming how the film is a remake of JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH only this time in 3-D, the lame title is very fitting.
Eric Brevig, the man who is responsible for the effects on TOTAL RECALL (one of Arnold's only good roles) is going to be in the director's chair for this one. Adding to this odd production is D.V. DeVincentis (HIGH FIDELITY) writing the script. Seems like a strange team for this type of blockbuster film, but who knows. Putting something in 3-D practically makes it cool already, though this one could easily flop. Variety has announced that the film follows "a teenager and his scientist father who stumble onto a message hidden in an ancient artifact. Their attempt to solve the riddle leads them into a previously unseen world and the creatures that inhabit it."
Sounds like this one might be relying on its 3-D intrigue to capture movie-goers. Though as usual, we'll have to wait and see.
