There are all kinds of competitive activities that are considered sports. Some, like football, basketball, hockey, and baseball, are better known and widely accepted by beer guzzling men and women across the nation. While others, such as beer pong, pillow fighting, and quarters, won't ever make it onto the Olympic roster.
The good news is that some of these sports are becoming a bit more mainstream and are also accumulating quite a following. One of these sports is bar stool racing. While it might sound like something drunk guys do at a bar after a night of heavy drinking, it is actually a "sport" that has gained recent popularity. No need for athleticism or training, you just sit atop a motorized bar stool and race to the finish line.
Man Explanation: "Why not? Many build racing bar stools because they like tinkering with anything motorized. These people already have the tools, welders, and garage set-up to facilitate this fun past time. When winter hits you need a project. Don't have a new hot rod under construction? Then why not build a Racing Bar Stool.
There are a couple of sites devoted to the sport: BarFlyRacers.com is set up like a forum board, allowing members to swap information on getting your feet wet, how to design a bar stool of your own, where to find parts, where to find races, etc. If you want to learn about the sport, but don't want to wait for someone to answer your questions, then try visiting RacingBarStool.com. BarStoolRacing.net tells you all about the sport, where to find parts, how to build a vehicle, where races will be taking place, etc. They even have an entertaining man stuff section that's worth a look.
While bar stool racing might not bring the ladies running and begging for the chance to spend the night with you, it can gain you some huge bragging rights among your friends.
